Do you know, television programs can cause negative emotional changes in children?

Yes, I think television programs can bring about negative emotional changes in children. A 2017 report in the Dhaka Tribune spoke of various crimes committed against children. The prospect of this kind of crime in the tender hearts of children is really very frustrating for the nation. Usually what children see is very easily embedded in their brains.

At this time of Covid-19, children are spending a lot of time at home so they can spend their time watching various programs on television. Watching television shows can cause negative emotional changes in children. As a result, the child’s future may be threatened. The following is a list of possible types of negative emotional changes in a baby:

First, children may be addicted to drugs. For example, cinemas are a very big part of these programs. The protagonist smokes cigarettes or drinks alcohol in various scenes to increase the attraction of the movie. When children see their favorite hero smoking or drinking alcohol, they may want to do this.

Second, children may become addicted to a variety of crimes while watching television. For example, when watching a serial killing movie and seeing that the serial killers are not being tried, they may also lean towards serial killing and may also learn to remove evidence of guilt. There are various television programs where the perpetrator removes the evidence to cover up his crime. Also, watching hacking related movies can lead children to hacking.

Third, children may grow up with mental weakness. For example, with a variety of physical conditions, children may grow up with a mental disability. Watching this kind of movie can cause a kind of fear in their mind which will cause them to grow up with a kind of fear from a young age and because of which they will always be mentally weak.

Fourth, the mindset of revenge can be created in the minds of children. For example, various movies show that the protagonist’s family is tortured in some way, and the protagonist takes revenge when he grows up. This kind of violent attitude in the child’s mind will hamper his healthy mental development.

The last one is that the child’s religious values may be eroded. For example, various terrorists teach religious errors in movies. Seeing this kind of thing can lead children to get religious misconceptions which are not desirable for the normal mental development of the child and the nation.

It will not be possible to stop such television programs in a very short time if the government wants. But if we can’t keep children away from such television programs, we can’t expect a better society from the children of tomorrow. At other times children are busy with their studies or other activities so they don’t have much time to watch television. But during this closure of Covid-19, children can spend a lot more time watching television. So children should be kept away from these activities. Here are some things you can do to help your children avoid negative changes from television programs:

Parents should give their children more time and attention. For example, paying attention to what children are doing. Introduce children to sports and physical activities. Children need to increase their interest in reading books. For example, reading a story book or history book can increase children’s interest in reading books. Since there is no pressure on children to study now, they can be taught songs, dances or drawing. Children need to learn religious values. They should pay attention to all religious activities and learn to respect all religious people. To love children so much that they can understand family values without gossiping. No one in their family will treat the children in such a way that the child forgets his family values or love for the family.

Finally, it can be said that a variety of negative emotional values in children can be changed through television programs. The child’s family needs to be more aware that this kind of negative change is not happening to the child. Also the family should give the child more time so that if the child makes a mistake, he can get to the right education.
